The Powell School Faculty Fellowship is a program focused on how to better support our students’ career and professional development.
For the 2024-25 cohort, the program will consist of a series of SIX WORKSHOPS focused on how to support students in the social sciences to think about the connections between what they’re learning in the classroom and their potential career paths. Faculty participants will receive stipends of $750 for completing the series, and they will receive on-going support from the Colin Powell School Office of Student Success to make career and professional topics a subject in at least one course offering.
In this workshop series, faculty will gain knowledge of the basic elements of how to connect intellectual development with career development. Fellows will learn more about the kinds of opportunities our students pursue and what students need to do to be outstanding applicants for internships and jobs. Faculty will be exposed to different approaches to mentorship around career and professional development topics, and they will learn about how to work with OSS to support student success.
In our previous year, we finished the second year of the fellowship with a cohort of fifteen faculty. In the third cohort, we are aiming for a cohort of 10-12 Faculty Career Development Fellows. The program is open to all full-time and part-time faculty in the Colin Powell School.
Deadline to apply is SEPTEMBER 10.
All workshops will be held IN-PERSON and ON-CAMPUS from 12:30PM to 1:45PM on the following dates:
